Consultant - Behaviour Support Specialist
Kane has more than 20 years of experience working in both government and non-government disability services. Kane works for My Disability Practitioners on a contractor basis. Kane is a registered Behaviour Specialist with the NDIS. He holds a Disability-specific Education Degree and a Masters Degree specialising in community living, positive behaviour support and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Kane is passionate about the design and implementation of person-centred lifestyle and behaviour support plans.Kane strives to build a deeper understanding of a person’s needs so that those providing support will unite with motivation to create a better future for people living with disability. Part of this approach is creating opportunities for people to move into more valued social roles which not only make a positive difference in their lives but also changes the attitudes of the people around them. Kane sees the goal of positive behaviour support as the creation of authentic ethical approaches that are respectful, helpful, and relevant to the person’s needs and ultimately result in positive behaviour change and a rich lifestyle.
