Consultant - Senior Behaviour Specialist, Counsellor, Occupational Therapist

Jenny works for My Disability Practitioners on a contractor basis. Jenny first completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) in 2006 and has been a practicing Occupational Therapist for the last 12 years. During this time, Jenny has developed extensive knowledge in the area of sensory processing difficulties. Jenny uses her occupational therapy skills and experience to deliver specialist behaviour support and has been doing this now for 4 years. Jenny consider the child/person’s developmental skills, primary environments, meaningful tasks, goals and activities of daily living in her behaviour support interventions.

Jenny also has post-graduate qualifications in Play Therapy and is passionate about working with children and their families using this creative therapy approach to support children with social and behavioural difficulties. Play Therapy helps children with social or emotional difficulties learn to communicate better, develop problem-solving skills as well as better ways of coping, and relate to others in more positive ways. Jenny is passionate about delivering person-centred and working collaboratively with her clients, their families and other important people in their support networks to help reach goals that will increase people’s quality of life.
